The Wyandotte County Early Childhood Interagency Coordinating Council (WCECICC) supported the implementation of the Kansas Family Engagement and Partnership Standards in their county. Agencies from the council created and led a series of workshops for families in two housing complexes and provided additional services as needed for those living in the complexes. In addition, the standards were the focus of the Parent/Provider University, an annual workshop held for child care providers, and families to learn more about building family engagement capacity in their communities. This presentation will feature the implementation of evidenced-based, best practices to promote family engagement in a large urban community.
